After being a pastor’s wife for 20 years, I have been with families on one of the worst days of their lives, the day that their loved one passes. When the loss occurs, it brings a sense of uncertainty to the family’s life. They’re trying to cope with the loss of their loved one, all the while life continues on around them and the planning for their loved one’s service has to happen. The family I remember the most is the family that had to make five trips to the funeral home to get everything planned because coping with the loss of their loved one while trying to plan their services was too much for them to emotionally do in one sitting. I knew there had to be a better way for families to be prepared for the loss of their loved one. When the opportunity presented itself for me to become a PreNeed Specialist, I gladly accepted it. Preplanning is a tremendous gift to give to your family and truly the last gift you are able to give them. On the day you pass, you give them the gift of being able to process their grief and how to move forward in life without you by their side. I am able to have a positive impact on families by helping them make the decisions that are right for them so they can grieve well and better prepare for the grief journey ahead.
