Robert's Story
Robert T. Hughes is a dedicated individual who has spent his life serving both his country and his community. Born and raised in Dekalb County, he developed a strong sense of loyalty and a deep connection to his roots. After graduating from Southwest Dekalb High School, Robert enlisted in the US Army Signal Corps, where he served with honor and dedication for four years before receiving an honorable discharge. Following his military service, Robert relocated to Illinois to be closer to his family. In 1996, he embarked on a successful business career, specializing in handling insurance needs for trade union and blue-collar workers. Through his unwavering tenacity and relentless work ethic, Robert quickly distinguished himself and rose through the ranks, earning national recognition and numerous prestigious awards in the insurance industry for over 25 years. In 2020, Robert decided to retire from his flourishing career and return to his beloved Georgia, where he could give back to the community that had played a pivotal role in shaping his family's foundation. Giving back has always been an intrinsic part of Robert's character, which is evident in his accolades as a three-time "Parent of the Year" at the Bethlehem Center of Charlotte, as well as being named the runner-up for "Cook County Step Parent of the Year." Robert's involvement with various charitable organizations led to him being sought after as a speaker, representing parents with disabled children at the national convention of the National Head Start Association. Currently, Robert serves as the social media coordinator for C-WIT International Ministries, channeling his passion for helping others into meaningful online outreach. However, in 2023, his compassionate heart led him to join A.S. Turners & Sons through their association with FDLIC Pre-Need Funeral Services. Having experienced the loss of close friends and family members in recent years, Robert witnessed firsthand the positive impact that funeral directors had on his own family during those difficult times. This experience inspired him to offer the same peace of mind and support to other families facing the unfortunate loss of a loved one. Robert T. Hughes's unwavering dedication to his community, his exceptional leadership skills, and his compassionate nature make him a true asset in his chosen profession.
